Diamond Inferno might sound like a superhero themed game, but what you’re looking at is actually a classic release, using recycled symbols which have been part of similar games for decades now. It’s not a very attractive game, and it incorporates a lot of fire as well, another common choice for older titles. Its symbols give us the Diamond, W Logo, Stars, Lucky 7s, Dollar Sign, Dice and the Royals from Jack to Ace.

Coming via Triple Edge Studios, a small studio that has partnered up with Microgaming to offer their slots exclusively on their platform, the game is one of several that is part of this arrangement. Other great titles that have been offered as exclusive releases, have included Absolootly Mad Mega Moolah, Attack on Retro, or Playboy Gold Jackpots, to mention just a few of them. Generally, I find them to be doing a very good job with their games.

Betting

You can play this game as you would any other. Set up your bet, within the offered range of $0.20 to $20, and the line bet will change automatically, from $0.01 to $1.

You’re getting a slot machine with 5×3 reels, which has 20 lines. As you play, and you get wins, the features that follow will expand the game area and add more lines, with up to 50 possible. This is all without your direct involvement though, so you just sit back and enjoy it when it happens, you don’t need to do anything.

Special Features

Diamond Inferno gives us a system where the reels will expand, as a result of re-spins which follow all winning spins. You start off with a setup with 5 reels and 3 rows, which have 20 paylines. With each new re-spin that triggers, you get an additional row and 10 more lines. You get up to 5×6 reels in total, with a maximum of 50 lines.

There are Multipliers that can become active as well, though only once you’ve expanded the game area fully, so you’ve been through several winning re-spins already. As the game area can’t expand again after that, multipliers start going up instead, to 2x, 3x, 5x & 10x. Once the feature ends, the game area and the multipliers will reset.

You get some help via wild symbols, marked with a simple W logo here. These can land stacked, and they are only available on the middle three columns.

Scatters will show up as well, and I like about them the fact that they pay depending on the row where they appear. Rows 1 to 6 will get you payouts of 1x to 20x the stake, from each of the three scatters that need to show up, in order to bring rewards. Once again, only the middle three reels will get these feature symbols.

Maximum Payouts

Perhaps the most impressive thing of all, is the fact that Diamond Inferno is capable of paying a very good top jackpot, well beyond what a Medium volatility release like this one can usually deliver. 11,750x the stake is the amount mentioned, which is about 5-10 times what other games of this type will pay. 96.19% is the announced RTP, another good figure. Add a hit frequency of 32.10% (about 1 in 3 spins is a winner, and gets re-spins as well), and I think you will agree that the game holds great promise.

Conclusion

Diamond Inferno looks like a game that you can easily enjoy, you just need to be interested more in its payouts and features, not its looks. Triple Edge designed an excellent game for Microgaming though, I love the combination of Medium volatility and top payouts of 11,750x the stake.
